CDG Becomes Geomagic Reseller in U.K.
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 12, 2003 -- Geomagic has reached an agreement with Concurrent Design Group (CDG) to become the U.K. reseller of Geomagic Studio reverse-engineering software and Geomagic Qualify computer-aided inspection software.
CDG is an independent supplier of professional services to the MCAD market. The company’s Reveng division (www.reveng.co.uk) offers reverse engineering of physical parts, including scanning and conversion into points, surfaces or solid models.
“We try to partner with the best organizations in the engineering services field,” says Jim Johnson, Geomagic’s vice president of worldwide sales. “CDG’s depth of experience, industry knowledge, and level of professionalism will help our customers realize maximum value when integrating Geomagic products into their engineering processes.”
Geomagic software automatically processes scan data from a physical part to generate highly accurate polygon and parametric surface models. It enables manufacturers to move easily between the physical part or mold and its digital model, resulting in greater speed, accuracy and reliability.
“Geomagic’s functionality and ability to create a usable CAD model from scanned data is the best I’ve seen,” says Graham Walker, CDG’s head of reverse engineering.
Geomagic ( www.geomagic.com) provides software that enables closed-loop processes for reverse engineering, mass customization and quality assurance. Manufacturers worldwide -- including Toyota, Harley-Davidson, Fisher-Price, Align and many others -- turn to Geomagic to provide the technology for customizing products, automating processes, and increasing throughput.
