Geomagic names Andrew Stein VP of marketing, product & business development
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., June 30, 2005 – Geomagic has named Andrew Stein vice president of marketing, product and business development. Stein assumes the post on July 1.
In his new position, Stein is responsible for Geomagic’s strategic marketing, business development, product management, third-party relationships, and channel marketing. He had similar responsibilities with Leica Geosystems HDS, the high-definition surveying unit of the global company. Before that, Stein was a business development leader at Reed Construction Data, a division of Reed Business Information, and held strategic leadership positions over 16 years with Autodesk, one of the world’s leading CAD/CAM companies.
Stein brings experience in key strategic development areas for Geomagic, a national Technology Fast 500 company that over the past couple of years has doubled its workforce, recorded ten-fold increases in profitability, and created an international presence.
“Our entrepreneurial adolescence is behind us and we are becoming a major force in the design, engineering and manufacturing markets we address,” says Ping Fu, Geomagic’s president and CEO. “Andrew has a wealth of experience and a successful track record for taking companies along the same path that we want to travel. He will be a valuable addition to our executive team.”
“Geomagic is helping to revolutionize design, engineering and manufacturing – enabling everything from mass customization and more effective inspection to custom-fitted medical devices,” says Stein. “I’m excited to be part of an organization that can make a difference in the world.”
