Geomagic Studio — Advanced Class
Course ID: TR-ST-ADV
Level: Advanced
Duration: 2-day instructor-led course
Cost: $1000 (US) per person
Overview
This 2-day instructor-led course covers the basics of Digital Shape Sampling and Processing (DSSP) with Geomagic Studio. The user learns how to interact with the application, edit point cloud data, generate and edit complex polygonal models and generate NURBS surfaces for downstream applications.
Who should attend?
This course is designed for experienced users of Geomagic Studio who are ready to increase their productivity by utilizing advanced features.
What will I learn?
After completing the course, users will be able to:
+ Modifying behavior of the user interface, such as customizing the toolbar.
+ Advanced editing techniques for non-ideal point clouds.
+ Creating and using macros.
+ Running macros in batch.
+ Editing non-ideal polygon objects and reconstructing missing polygon data.
+ Advanced manipulation of polygon data, including averaging multiple objects into one.
+ Creating cross sections for export to CAD.
+ Creation and manipulation of polygons with perfect three-dimensional geometry (in the shape of planes, cones, cylinders, or spheres).
+ Simplifying the surfacing process by re-using a patch structure on similar objects, and by mirroring the patch structure on a symmetrical part.
+ Making adjustments to the surface that was generated by Auto-Surface, rather than starting over.
+ Trimming NURBS surfaces with imported curves.
